I interviewed someone claiming to be a CCIE - with their number on their resume. How can I verify that that certification is valid? The interview with basic networking questions went pretty badly - a surprise given the CCIE certification claim. For future references I would like to know how to verify. When I try to look this up on google I wind up with a hundred education offers.
And on the Cisco site 'Certifcation Tracking System' appears to be a resource for CCIEs - not something that verifies. Hello guys i am new to cisco support community, i need your help desperately. I have studied ccna and ccnp (RS), never appeared in exams.

So my questions are 1: what do you think is it ok to appear in ccie directly? 2: i am 21, having no university degree,no experience right now, i have planned to do ccie first then go find the job and start working so, which ccie is good for me (rs,s.provider, data center, etc)? Many people says university degree and basic education does not matter with ccie what do you think? Hi I would agree with Jody coming from the perspective of someone whos interviewed quite alot of different candidates, what your looking for is someone who is well rounded as a person and as technician both usually occur through life/job experience. Although having a CCIE on paper looks great you also want someone who has the years of experience behind them of dealing in pressure situations, leading by example in a team, as well understanding of various technologies and there implications to the business. Certs and Experience will give you more opportunities and overall provide a company with an adaptible asset to the company, while having a Degree will mean you'll not limit yourself when more senior roles arise requiring a degree but some companies differ in this approach.
Best of Luck in Studies and getting the Experience. Hi and Welcome to the Community! Please see this 'sticky' post for helpful information concerning your BBID situation: Hopefully, this information will be of use to you. Given your situation, I suspect you cannot get past this without human intervention (which is discussed in that post).all of the automated recovery methods require either the correct security question response or that the BBID already have been validated, which is the step you are actually now on. Hence, I doubt that the automated recovery methods will work for you.Cheers, and Good Luck!

Hello, I'm trying to figure out how many Catalyst 3560 are used in the CCIE lab. If you take look at the Lab Equipment listed on the website it gives you quite a blurry picture: Obviously everyone who is working on lab preparations wants to have/rent a POD which would be similar to 'CCIE RS LAB POD'. My question is: If one already has a pod with 2 3550 Switches, should he/she take them away and 4 3560 or he/she should just add 2 more 3560? Please suggest. Best regards, Ivan. Thanks, I think that you will knock it out of the park.
It is a good test of hands on knowlege, and the proctors or proctor (there is only one SAN proctor in RTP) are pretty cool guys. Interesting tidbit - There is only one physical rack for SAN gear. It is located in RTP, all other locations (brussels right now) shell in remotely. I don't know if they are thinking about building a second rack in Syndney, but my gut feel says no. I didn't do the bubbly. But I think that a good portion of a Guinness keg, and a bit of Tequila got recycled that night.
I swear it took about three days for my stomach to get back to normal. --Colin CCIE #18233. I saw this posted on Cisco website several days ago, but it has since disappeared. What is the story?
Is/Was the CCIE written being considered for use to recertify other certs? Is that still a possibility or not? Thanks ====================================================== CCIE Written Recertifies Other Certs 10-AUG-2004: Effective November 1st, 2004, Cisco certified professionals who pass a CCIE written exam will be able to use that passing score to recertify any associate, specialist and professional level certifications. The policy change is designed to encourage the pursuit of lifelong learning. Hi, I would like some advices regarding the CCIE SP certification. I am currently CCNP RS and I would like to be CCIE.
I would like to start with a CCIE RS but I have been offered training to be a CCIE SP. So my question is: What your guys recommend? I was thinking that it is a big step to go directly to CCIE SP but many subjets are the same: BGP,MPLS,QoS,Multicast. What do you think? It is possible or your recomment to go through CCIE RS first.
I have to say that I am currently taking my CCIP and I have been through BGP and I am currently training for MPLS. I also really like ISP enviroment. Thanks in advance for your advices. Hello Chetan, I can only confirm tha the old CCIE population link is not present currently in CCO at least in the place where it has been for long time. Also in networkworld cisco subnet there is no trace of bradreese blog that for some time had reported links to the CCIE population (the blog was closed two mounths ago but it has been removed as all other old blogs) I hope this is a temporary issue not related to the knowledge questions A lot of rumors about CCIE number reduction over last mounths has been reported Hope to help Giuseppe.
'6 Jan 2004: Certification Magazine has released the results of their annual salary survey --declaring CCIEs the most highly-compensated IT professionals. Input was recevied from over 19,000 IT professionals in 136 countries. As the editors reported: 'It should come as no surprise to IT experts that earning and maintaining professional certifications has a positive impact on their bottom lines' and 'Not surprisingly, CCIE led the pack, with an average salary of $96,870 annually.'
CCIE topped other popular certifications such as Nortel's Certified Design Specialist, (ISC)2's Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP) and Check Point's security certifications. In another recent survey, CCIE was acknowledged as 'the number two Hottest Exam for 2004' by CertCities.com, an online journal that tracks the intentions of professionals pursuing certification in the coming year. These new awards, in addition to those received in November 2003 (see prior announcement) prove that, in an industry with a proliferation of professional exams, CCIE continues to maintain its highly coveted position at the top of the heap.' You know just because someone has a CCIE doesn't always mean they are always right. I had a CCIE one time throw a wrench in my wireless design. He was clueless to wireless (his IE was R/S) and the customer put the project on hold.In short, I had to spend a week to educate him on the basics of wireless. In the end I got the idea he liked to question EVERYTHING on everyones projects to prove his worth to his employer.
This guy used his IE to throw his weight around. While onsite there was a network down issue. This guy had little clue how to troubleshoot, which just amazed me.
He spent 2 hours to find a trunk was switched to access port. Hello everyone, I would like to ask some question regarding my CCIE id association to any partner company.
I am being offered a job as a freelancer by a Cisco partner comany which is based in the NA, to work remotely from other country where I reside for them on monthly contract basis and associate my CCIE cisco id thru partner self service program to their firm. So my questions are: - Am I allowed to work on contract basis while my id is in association. - do i have to be full time employee of a firm to associate id with that firm.
- Can one work remotely if he/she is full time employee or part time. - What is the minimum hours one has to work for the firm if part time is allowed. - What is the minimum period for which an individual CCIE can have their CCIE id associated to a cisco partner company. - what are the condition under which I can associate my id to any partner. Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi All: I am a newbie to this forum, will welcome your viewpoints. I am a networking professional with 6 years of hands on experience with different vendors. I think now the time has come for me to certify my experience formally by attaining CCIE. I have following questions: 1. My CCNA 2.0(expired) will it's status be restored once I complete my CCIE written?
What is the rationale for completing CCNP when one can directly attempt CCIE written and possibly clear it in one or two attempts. Does it help to be CCNA then CCNP and then CCIE written, as for myself I will be saving a lot of time by going directly to CCIE written. How does the employer look at CCIE written with no CCNP versus someone with CCNP then CCIE written.
Your views are welcome. Actually, it depends on the specifics and what exactly you mean by 'transfer'. It is true that any Cisco certification is a personal certificate and can therefore be used by yourself for purposes of hiring and so forth. However, if we are talking about moving from one Cisco partner to another and thereby taking your CCIE with you for the purpose of fulfilling partnership requirements at your new employer, then things get complicated. Basically, only 1 Cisco partner is allowed to claim your CCIE number for the purposes of Cisco partnership requirements at any one time. If you quit a partner to work for another, the old partner is still allowed to claim your CCIE number for a period of time (I believe it's something like 6 months), and that therefore means that your new partner cannot claim that number.
That doesn't mean that you can't work for the new partner, it just means that you can't transfer your CCIE number with you for partnership purposes. On the other hand, if you are fired from that first partner, then you are allowed to transfer your number to whoever you want. This is obviously important only to the smaller Cisco partners who are scraping by with the bare minimums required for partnership. The overwhelming majority of Cisco partners have many CCIE's on staff and their partnership requirements will therefore won't really be affected by the gain or loss of one more or one less CCIE. Using an iPhone 5 and an iPad 2 (both iOS 6.1.3) with the same Apple ID.
Signed out and signed in again on both devices. After verification, both device show the phone number associated with the Apple ID and the email address.
The iPhone also displayed a message that the iPad now receives iMessages at the registered phone number. Both are set up to use phone number and email to receive. Both are set up to 'send from' the phone number.
As far as I can tell, iPhone and iPad are set up exactly alike.BUT: Sending an iMessage to the email address will cause the message to show up on both phone and iPad. Sending an iMessage to the phone number will only deliver it to the phone.Turned iMessage off and on a few times, signed in and out a few times (with waits inbetween), reset the iPad. The behavior doesn't change. The message on the phone tells me that the iPad has registered with the iMessage server. But why, oh why, does it still not receive messages?Dumbfounded. Actually, the recert exam is not very difficult at all. For example, one option for the recertification is simply to take the CCIE- written again.
This has always been one of my pet peeves with the CCIE program - Cisco doesn't seem to be terribly interested in making sure that existing CCIE's are updating their skillset. You have a wide choice of recert exams of which you only have to pass one, and some of them are basically obsolete (like 350-005, the Campus Networks recert exam OR 350-011, the basic WAN-switching exam). This is why you sometimes run across old-timer CCIE's who haven't bothered to keep up - and quite frankly, if they can just keep recertifying on obsolete technology, they don't need to keep up.
Since the Ver 4.0 came out in October, not that many people have passed the exam due to 1-Being a new exam and 2-Because of not enough passing, there is not enough info out there for the venders to adjust their products. The only thing the venders can go by is the blue print at this time.
As a matter of fact one of INE student is the first one to pass ver 4.0 a couple of days ago. With that said the exam is paasable and It really all depends on how much time you are willing to put into studing and practicing.
A couple of other factors here are 1-How much experinace you have in this field and 2-How much hands-on do you do every day. Chris - That's an interesting reply 'a structured learning approach' is what our WB is build upon (IPexpert). We have over 50 scenarios in the WB, the first 18 are mini / protocol / technology-focused, giving you a basic / foundation-level approach to CCIE-level scenarios.
Labs 19-40 are Mock Labs - starting easier and progressively getting more complex. Labs 41-44 are also mock labs, called our 1-Day Lab Experience(s). There's an appendix with 6 or 7 scenarios that's included. Chris - I did a lookup, and I believe you purchased Version 4 of our product - we're on Version 7 right now, which is a completely different product.
Regarding the IE workbook - I can tell you that they have gotten a few positive comments, but they hardly have a 'structured approach'. I believe you get 10 mock labs in their package, and I've heard from a few of our clients that they are a little upset - because IE doesn't give you a free upgrade - they basically drop their products and write a new book, making you purchase a new book instead of providing updates to new clients. Regardless, the CCIE lab is a complex beast - if you can afford to do so - it will probably be in your best interest to purchase both products. If not, feel free to join our online support forum at - and try to get an unbiased response from the members there - on the product that fits your learning style. I just wanted to add that although this process is not required, it typically helps to check yourself more thoroughly from a theoretical aspect than you would check yourself by just taking the CCIE written for the specialization you pursue and can help you manage your studies better. What you choose to do will depend on your confidence and the level of knowledge you have in the second area you seek certification.
You could consider taking a subset of those exams, depending on your knowledge. 5 ponts to Ross for his answer, and especially because he was thoughtful enough to mention the probability of a candidate being a 'she':-). Dear Friends, I am happy to be back, especially with my CCIE number, yes i've done it:), from the first attempt (Edison, i understood your point!), it was a very tough road, but thanks God i've reached the end alive. Thank you guys, and i think its about time to engage with you again, i am really glade to be back. BR, Mohammed Mahmoud. Hi I have following queries for CCIE Certifications in Security 1)I want to purchase the lab book and saw that CCIE Book (CCIE Security Practice Labs (CCIE Self-Study) (Bhaiji, ISBN# ) available in the book store; however it is not inline with the latest LAB blueprint. So please let me know which is the book i shoud go for?
2)Also let me know what is the current blueprint for written and lab exam 3)Please let me know if there are any CCIE Security video available (which shows the labs and scenarios ) which i can buy? Regards Ankur. Hi Guys, Im a CCIE but looking to expand my certs, and am interested in the Design track.
I wanted to do the certifications in the same way I did for my CCIE, and go through the stages (Associate, Professional, Expert). One thing I wanted to check was the exams I would need to take in order to acheive CCDP.
I had passed my CCNP (when the exams were BSCI and BCMSN), but these have since been replaced with the ROUTE and SWITCH exams. My question here is. Do I need to sit the ROUTE and SWITCH exams as well as the ARCH exam?
Or can I get away with just sitting the ARCH exam because I have completed the BSCI and BCMSN? Thanks for your time Nick. Hello, I read that starting from 1st of October a CCIE written certification will recertify all Associate and Professional Level Certifications. I passed the CCIE security written about a month ago. Does this mean, that my CCNP (that would expire in December 2004) becomes automatically recertified on October 1st or do I have to pass the CCIE written a second time after October 1st? At the moment the Certification Tracking still shows me, that my CCNP will only bevalid until December 2004 Thanks for your answers.
The following link gives all the details you need. I personnaly think this is not quite fair, if the rule only applies to written exams taken after oct 1st. Professional recerts alones are quite some studying away, but if one has to still worry about them just bcse he/she passed the writtten before oct 1st.
Sounds like there is no middle lane here; either you go all the way and take no breakes, or you just give up and let it all go to waste. I know some CCIEs who never sit in a Cisco Class and passed both written and lab on first attempt. I passed CCNA about 3 years ago and jump out directly to CCIE(passed 1st time). Is the best thing to do. CCNP is a waste of time(not all, just compared to CCIE), in my opinion. Follow what Cisco says in blueprint, study hard and you will be fine.
Buy Routing TCP/IP Vol. 1/2(Jeff Doyle is the best) and Cisco LAN Switching. Quick Memo Lg G3 Скачать more. This is imperative to a CCIE candidate. I´m not kidding.
Good Luck in your long long journey. Just bought a new phone and got a new sim but i cant top up. Iv made an account but when i go to top up it says 'sorry somethings wrong.
We cant find a mobile number for this account. Please associate one with it' even though my number is visable under my devices and i recieved a text as part of the sign up prosses. This is really fraustrating as iv never had these problems with anyother company and if this isnt resloved im seriously considering using another network.
Any help to resolve this would be much appreciated. Just bought a new phone and got a new sim but i cant top up. Iv made an account but when i go to top up it says 'sorry somethings wrong.
